i have three computers with intel chipsets all show the error with directx
when i switch to ati card it goes away (no update needed) switch back to intel error shows again intel need to update their drivers to run with their software lol already have latest drivers from intel by the way

Thanks for all the help, time and patience so far! Ok, drivers are updated for my onboard video. VMR9 looks a lot better now, although the screen does hitch when I move my cursor around. Still can't get past issue with DirectX. CPU usage is from 60 to 80 percent when veiwing QAM so I hope that helps it. Should I try to download DirectX 10? Just to confirm I did a dxdiag run command and it says 9.0c is installed version 4.09.0000.0904.

you appear to be running XP, so DX10 isn't an option (too bad; the EVR renderer is often best, but it's not really available in XP). Regardless, NPVR uses DX9 calls.

Can I uninstall / reinstall dx09c? Is their any known issues where npvr doesn't recognize that dx9c is installed? Would reinstalling NPVR help me out? I think this version of dx was in my original install of windows home SP3.
