Hi all,
Seen a few other similar threads but nothing seems to solve these problems for me.
I was using Kodi with NPVR as a back end but it crashed so often that a few weeks ago I decided to switch to the NPVR front end as it seemed more stable and NPVR has always been super reliable for recording.
At that time I was running version 4.1.1 but had an issue where when trying to resume watching a recording having previously stopped part way through where the UI would just freeze. There was no explicit application crash but I have to bring up the task manager to end the process which was listed as not responding in task manager.
A couple of weeks ago I decided to upgrade to the latest version (4.2.5) in the hope it would solve the issue but it didn't and it introduced this new playback issue - I start watching a recording and at some point the video starts racing ahead of the audio (the video appears to run in fast forward whilst the audio carries on at normal speed). It happens seemingly at random though there is definitely a pattern based on the channel recorded - e.g. programs from ITV usually mess up within a couple of minutes of starting playback, other recordings it can take much longer or not happen at all). It doesn't seem to affect Live TV unless timeshifting.
I've installed and switched to the latest LAV decoders (was using Microsoft DTV-DVD, I'm on Windows 8 and used to use Media Center) but still get the issue. Also tried both with the "use legacy NPVR TS reader" option but so far only succeeded in breaking Live TV playback altogether or simply getting audio/video out of sync immediately (not the "fast forward video" thing, just mismatched audio/video playback).
The recorded ts files playback fine in Kodi and VLC.
Finally I've tried downgrading through all versions back to 4.1.1 and the issue remains even when running 4.1.1 which is frustrating as I no longer have a working/reliable TV setup.
I've attached the logs and will gladly try some different setting combinations as advised.
Thanks
