Spam Handling

Dear all,

just looking for clarification from experienced spam handlers

Since sub installed the spam-o-matic function things have been lovely and quiet on the spam front. One slipped through a few minutes ago and not knowing what it did I used the spam-o-matic option to deal with the threads/user.

This now shows as:

1 Spammer Permanently Banned

under spam-o-matic statistics. Which wasn't probably my intention. Better to just use the standard 'delete posts as spam' option rather than the spam-o-matic one?

Sorry I dont know. I've not really had to manually delete the spam since installing it. I'll probably just stick to 'delete posts as spam' for any I see.

Thanks sub. Yeh, I don't see this as a major issue, since spam-o-matic was put into action this was the first instance I have seen of spam getting through. Perhaps I was wrong to perma ban the spammer! After all we were all being offered in 8 different threads discount designer jeans @ great prices

I was just concerned that what I did appeared in the spam-o-matic statistics as a new item where none existed before. On reflection I think I will use that again for an extra help to show all spammers, if we want jeans we will buy them from the usual place, not from your spam link
