I'm off on holidays this week and I'm wondering if there is an easy way for me to record the F1 this weekend then download when I'm abroad.

I could just use NEWA to download the recording, but my home upload speed isn't great and I'm worried the connection at the end I'm downloading it will flake out half way through.

Ideally for this single program I'd like my server to post process it into h264 to get the size down, then add it to my drop box, that way at the other end the file is small and download speed will be limited by dropbox not my home up speed.

Any ideas what might be the easiest way of doing this, at the moment I'm thinking of just leaving VNC running so I can remote in and do it manually.

I think I'd use VNC to start a conversion off.
There again, I would probably let someone else do the work and grab it off usenet Wink

Usenet or p2p is an option, but i'll be at my inlaws in France when I want to watch it prior to going on holiday proper, I dont have a usenet acount and p2p is out cos I don't know how to open up their fire wall...vnc is the dirty quick fix...just be nice if when I got back from the beach it was ready on dropbox without me having to wait for a transcode.

Shame there isn't an batch file you could request to run for certain recordings, I could probably write something that catches the specifc file but I'm lazy and it's not worth it for a one off.

And you probably won't know the filename until it happens, so a scheduled dedicated batch file would not be as simple as it could be.
