It has been a couple of years since I have used an MVP, but this page http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...2010-12-24 should get you to the new dongle.bin file required. At this point, I am not sure where it goes, but I am pretty sure this is what you need. Read through the thread and the latest stuff on the mvpmc part of the forum. I am sure you will find the answers. Once you have read some, you should be able to ask more specific questions and should get some answers from the members. Since it is old technology, martin does not support it any more, but I think it should still work as long as you understand the MVP limitations as they relate to file types and lack of HD capabilities. Good luck.

Windows 7 upgrades is one of the main reasons I don't want to support the MVP per user anymore, basically it is the second (or third counting Vista) go 'round, with the same instructions. Basically

1. Don't forget to open your firewall for TCP and UDP on the local LAN for NextPVR.exe
2. Ensure you have an MVP Server configured in config.
3. Setup config.xml for the MAC address of your MVP. You should be able to copy the settings from GBPVR.
4. Finally although sub still distributes a Hauppauge dongle with NPVR it is not recommended you many things will not work without the version of mvpmc made for NPVR .

Soccerdad & Martin. Many thanks for your useful input, it's much appreciated. The wife has gone to bed now so i can turn off Gems tv on the telly and have a go at connecting this in peace! - I'll let the forum know the results just incase anyone else as dumb as me gets in a fix in future. - Ian
