I am having a few problems with watching Live TV from a client PC. I am using the latest NPVR patch with Windows 7 and HDHomerun (ATSC) tuners.

1) The live .ts files are never deleted from the server so several are accumulating on disk.
2) I have had a few freezes in NPVR while watching live TV on the client. The first time I stopped the show and restarted playback and it continued fine. The second time there was an unhandled "socket connection" exception. I can provide a log but I didn't see anything at all regarding the exception in there.

Thanks.

1) known bug. just put a command to delete them in your UpdateEPG.bat or other scheduled task that will run when no one is likely watching LiveTV. ie "del c:\livetv\*.ts"

2) reproduce the error and provide the logs anyway, from both the client and server, as well as the text of the exception. sub is good, but can't simply guess at what happened.

I have attached the logs and the server log does seem to indicate a few exceptions around when it happened (~23:03). Thanks.

Does it happen when changing channels, or when skipping, or just sitting there watching?

It has happened just while watching (after several minutes with no problems).

I'm not really sure. You'd probably need to collect some lower level logging to help get to the bottom of it.

Create a c:\temp on the client, and set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\NPVR\LogSlipFile=1, then reproduce the error and post the clients npvr.log and c:\temp\reader.log, aswell as the server's nrecord.log.
