I have 3 different client systems and experience hangs on all of them periodically. Seems to occur in the same location of a recording if I restart the recording (Fortunately Resume skips past the hang location).
Clients and server are all Windows 7. Latest V4 NextPVR. Gigabit network.
I've had 2 hangs this morning from one client system and repeated one of them for a 3rd hang by restarting the recording playback. Logs attached.

Since you probably should not expect any changes to v4 NextPVR.exe at this point I suggest trying the LAV 32bit audio and video decoders.

The LAV decoders didn't help. I guess I'll just live with it until the V5 client is available. I do have the V5 server setup on a test system, but haven't done much with it other than some simple tests.

I just tried a different combination of decoders matching the settings on my server and now the hang isn't occurring.
Can I tell from the log which decoder is in use for playback of a particular video?

If it's a .ts file, it's pretty much what you have selected in the Settings screens. For other types of files, Windows chooses what to use.

The NPVR.log file does list the decoders and directshow filters used to play the file, though you might have to scan through the list to find the "decoder"
