I have a problem, gang. I've downloaded the HVR-1950 driver from August, 2009 (the latest driver doesn't appear to support CCs) and (unfortunately) the WinTV program (necessary for using the IR Blaster in GB-PVR). As long as I leave the PC on, I can make a DVD with recordings from GB-PVR and I can see closed captions on the finished DVD. After I turn off my computer, turn it back on, record something and make a DVD from that recording, the CCs are gone on the finished DVD. What I have to do when this happens is run hcwclear to remove WinTV and the HVR-1950 driver, reboot, then reinstall WinTV and the HVR-1950 driver. The DVD I make after performing these steps has closed captions. I know that when I turn off my PC tonight, turn it on in the morning, make a recording and burn it to DVD, the CCs will again be gone and I'll have to again run hcwclear to remove the driver and WinTV, reboot and reinstall both to have the CCs appear. This certainly isn't practical. Something is happening in the software on shut-down that turns CCs off. I don't want to leave my PC on all the time, and I don't want to have to reinstall both the software and HVR-1950 driver upon each bootup whenever I want the CCs. I'm sure this is an issue with WinTV, not GB-PVR, because I never had to do this before when I was on analogue cable, and on analogue cable, I wasn't forced to install WinTV as I am now with digital. Hauppauge, however, is clueless, so I thought I'd ask here.
