jpsa Wrote:I can confirm this behaviour... when playing a recording on a *client*, ctrl-rightarrow works properly only if ctrl-Q has not been used, otherwise ctrl-rightarrow skips to the point where ctrl-Q was last used. On the server it seems to work properly all the time. (2.2.6 + R2 patches).
I get this behavior on the server when trying to skip while watching an in-progress recording: if I pause, then resume playing, any skipping after that just jumps back to the point where I paused. I do believe I can skip sucessfully while paused though.

I think the common thread here is the timing.info - the server doesn't use it on an in-progress recording, while a client doesn't use it even on a completed recording (right?). So skipping without timing.info is what seems to be broken here (nevermind how inaccurate skipping is WITH timing.info... that's a different complaint).

You could try this patch. It's not great timing for me with patches though, so I recommend you backup your original files of the same name first, before overwriting them.

The reason there is so many files included in this patch is because my version has moved on from 2.2.6, and these files are required for compatibility. You cannot use olders versions of other with these, so if you want to rollback you have to rollback all the files.

Tried the patch - but recording service failed to re start on reboot NPVR threw an exception and refused to start.

Thanks for the warning sub - backup installed and all back as previous.

Guess I'll wait till next version is out.

For the record - If there is no timing info (Live TV or info stripped by VideoRedo etc.) then pausing will cause all skips etc to jump straight to the previous pause point.

i had a go with the patches above but they wouldn't work together, i suspect something else is missing [from new version]
recording right now, but will upload log when done..

on a related note, my skips seem to be fixed with addition one of the post r2 patches..http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ion/page17
previously i had only applied r2 patches without any further updates..

Yeah, unfortunately it needs more files. It'll have to wait until I'm ready to do a full release.

It looks like I should roll up the remaining patches I have into a 2.2.6-Final archive (not including these incompatible patches posted here and one other thread that also referenced these patches), and call it done for 2.2.6 patches.

Anyone know of any patches I don't have in my list (again, aside from the incompatible patches released in the last day or so)?

i believe i just used the r2 plus http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post419068
[one of your post r2 patches listed]
at least i think that was the one..lol [was playing with every patch trying to find a workable solution, but pretty sure that was it]
and all seems to be well on client skips as well as on main machine..

i would try the final group together just to be sure before finalizing things..

Tried the patch in the post above (48) didn't do it for me - if pausing in live TV or file without timing info it always returns to pause point if skipping etc. until the file is restarted.

Ill wait for the next version - I believe sub knows how to fix it now.
