Microsoft dv avi

So I have a computer that has lost its ability to playback microsoft dv avi files. Can anyone tell me what I may need to try reregistering to get it working again?

You'd definitly need a splitter, Haali may be a good choice, and perhaps a codec package in case it's got lost.

That isn't what I was hoping to hear. But i guess it won't hurt to get a quick image and then try it out. Thanks

There may be other reasons as well, but it's a start. Surpriningly many people complains about black screen with audio, and it shows up they forgot the video codec :o
