Hi,

I just changed my system from gbpvr version 1.1.5 (I needed it for hardware-decoding on Hauppauge PVR 350) to nextpvr version 2.2.6.

This change was neccesary among other reasons because I have to archive some of my over 940 recordings. Now I am a little bit surprised, that NextPVR does not seem to have an archive-function.

It would be sufficiant for me to store at least the metadata in seperate xml-files. Unfortunatly if I set the flag StoreSeparateMetadataXml in the config.xml to true, NPVR does this only for the new recordings. Is there anyway to store the metadata for the old recordings in xml-files as well?

Such a function would help me a lot!

The metadata is stored in an alternate stream in the .ts file, you can copy it to another file with Copy Recording.ts:Metadata.xml Some_Name.xml.
I'm told it should work ;o

Hm,

does it work with the .mpg-files too? They were recorded with gb-pvr 1.1.5. I always thought, gb-pvr stored the metdata in its own database like gbpvr.mdb.

guidePlus can also extract the metadata nightly for you , it will actually move it all to an archive location as well, although I haven't used the move functionality lately.

Sorry if I've misread the above posts, but is there a way to automatically generate xml files for each recording I have? (probably close to 1000)
