I'd forgotten how the multiple setups work with XMLTV GUI - I only used one alternative many years ago. It actually makes things slightly easier as all I need to do is have a single command-line option as per XMLTV GUI itself (for the directory path) and use the .INI file it contains.

You're right about the shared cache directory - all I can think is if there's a cache file missing it's because there was a problem with the original XMLTV GUI run, i.e., the RT site didn't have the data for that channel. All I can do is skip that channel if the cache file is missing.

I wasn't feeling too well last night (stinking cold) and couldn't concentrate which is why I didn't get it finished but working on it at the moment. Oh, and the INI file contains the preference for adding Film or Movie to the title so I'll go by that.
