I just submitted 2 music playback plugins:

Pandora Internet Radio: Allows you to play your Pandora Internet Radio stations inside of NPVR (currently only available in the USA).
http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...ndoraRadio

MusicMonkey: Allows you to browse and play back your local music collection through the MediaMonkey software while controlling it in NPVR.

No worries.... so there not for me.... as I don't have time to go charging around looking at stuff that may or may not be of any use.

That's fine. But it's funny how you don't have the "time" to simply click on a supplied link and read one sentence but have plenty of time to post on here about how much work it would be for you to do so... Smile

Umm errr Big Grin

This thread is perhaps heading in the wrong direction? cncb I think it would be useful to at least announce the plugins (which look great btw, that is some nice wiki work, shame I can't use them as am in UK) on 2 separate threads? As you have 2 plugins there? Also kind of get where Jaggy is coming from as unfortunately it is historical that people do not always read the wiki around here and expect some detail on the threads.....

As for instance a UK user I would have no idea what Pandora and Music Monkey were?

Hi steeb,

I understand but I will just leave this thread the way it is. I already started 2 different threads in the Add-on forum and after all the time I spent on the Wiki docs not to mention developing the plugins themselves if someone can't be "bothered" to simply click on a link and do a tiny bit of reading then it indeed probably is "not for them".

cncb, thanks for enriching the NPVR experience with 3 truly unique plugins so far. Thanks also for sticking it out with NPVR 2.2.26 too which has as more problems then most of the releases in my 5 year history here. I know you came from SageTV and I welcome your work, with SageTV's demise, for new users it really is starting to boil down between NextPVR vs Windows Media Center and over time it will be the choice of plugins (and sub's support for the developers') that will make NextPVR special.

I look forward to trying Media Monkey out this weekend. As the author of MB4 I do see it addresses the number one feature request (that I won't be implementing) and that is tag management. Plus I welcome the challenge (I like what I see on the wiki). Ironically perhaps, I've been blasted for not having nice wiki page, you really can't please all of the people all of the time.

Martin.

Let us hope cncb sticks with NextPVR and comes up with even more!

Actually I wasn't criticising at all, (I may have been a bit brief/short with my messages but at the time I was running rather late having spent way too much time posting other messages) I was making a suggestion from my own experience over the years with releasing/updating my skins. That is after I added a small description at the top of my release message (in this announcement forum) the number of downloads increased dramatically.... so my conclusion was that a lot of users won't click on the supplied link to get the description & see if it's for them or not. It's no skin off my nose if anyone else learns something from my experience or not or even takes any notice of it.
