MCE blaster to relay amplifier remote signal?

Having done some research on and off the forum I am very confused. I see a lot or info about controlling tuner/satellite devices from the MCE remote. What I want to do is a little different and I hope someone has some experience to share...

I have a MCE remote and blasters. still using GBPVR, but planning a rebuild and NextPVR in the coming months.

I want to be able to use the blaster as a repeater so I can control my amplifier. i.e. point my amplifier remote at the MCE receiver and have that signal relayed via the blaster to the amplifier unit (which is out of sight)

Is this possible?

Probably not really an answer but in the future HDMI-CEC http://xbmc.org/natethomas/2011/11/01/th...he-future/ sounds like its going to help with this kind of problem.

I use "ir server suite" to do what your talking about it has macros etc and uses the mce blaster
If i press start button it turns on my projector switches to it then turns on my amp when i exit it turns off the projector and amp then switches back to the monitor

Very interesting. I have a problem with my Samsung LCD and EVGA 730i HDMI. If the computer powers on before the TV, the computer doesn't recognize that the HDMI is live and the TV claims there is no signal. Powering off the TV doesn't change the problem. Powering off the PC and forcing it to re-init the HW does. Unplugging and then plugging the HDMI cable in with out powering off works and video is visible too.

I wonder if I could use this to reset the connection and force TV/computer to place nice to together.

I've thought about getting a HDMI switch to avoid having to find the the HDMI cable and unplugging/plugging.

Has anyone tried one of these?
