? Is anyone else seeing this problem with that most recent patch

Not me, that is what your patch above fixed for me (where I said "cursor" I should have said "selected channel highlight").
Although I have not done anything with groups yet if that has any relevance.

Are you sure that you grabbed that second patch? This is what I was getting with the first patch, and was the reason for the second patch.

Oops I missed the second patch, sorry. It does work fine.

It's working the way it was designed to. It seemed like the most logical thing to do. For the next release I can try to make it configurable, so the user can either select to remember last channel group, or specify the startup group.

Naturally, it's not logical at all for me the way it works without the config.xml setting. With it, I find it still confusing, since for me the group is based on my mood and it relates more to time of day/week, and I'd prefer coming back to my default and not my last mood. I do exit NextPVR when I am not using it though many people don't and they won't notice this.

However adding an NMT into the mix you will have different setting coming from different locations in config.xml (I think that is why you used the registry before) and they conflict. If I start watching livetv in a Sports group I can exit back to House and Garden group.
