Multiple recording folders, selectable when setting up a scheduled recording

This is the one feature that keeps me using BeyondTV. We have multiple folders defined in BTV: KIDS, MOVIES, folders for shows my wife watches, shows that I watch... The kids by default go straight to the KIDS folder, and our content is well organized. When setting up a scheduled recording, we select the appropriate folder and when watching we never have to dig through a long list of recordings and shows to find the ones we want. This capability is quite a powerful organizational tool. WMC doesn't have this capability either.

Having stepped away for a bit, I recently installed 2.5.9 and noticed that you can create multiple folders and select which folder the scheduled recording will go to. How is this displayed for playback? Is there a 'By Folder' view under Recordings that would allow you to navigate those folders and see the recordings stored within?

No, there's no change to the way recordings are displayed. In fact currently there's no way at all to tell what folder a recording is in.

Being able to view recordings by folder would be a very nice feature. +1 on that wishlist item.

Actually XBMC clients can do this. We live in a new world of support now.

When XBMC Frodo goes final, I will give it another try. My early experience with the nightlies late last year was "pretty, but I'd hate to actually have to use it every day". I'd like to see the NextPVR front-end advance as well; I'd hate to see NPVR become just "the thing we run in the background so that XBMC will work".

If you map the different recording folders as folders in the Video Plugin as well, is any of the Metadata displayed in the Video library or just the raw filenames?
