yes, NPVR does still seem to have some bugs with watching livetv and in-progress recordings (two sides of the same coin I guess). watching completed recordings has become pretty much flawless though, which is how we do most watching.

I think it was in 2.2.6, or anyway (as mvallevand said) after the introduction of rolling files.

I dont see anything going wrong, and I'm not aware of any known issues with it.

What steps should show the problem for me?

(Martin's problem with rolling file is something that occasionally happens while seeking on the NMT clients - it doesn't affect playback on the PC)

Start a live tv session, pause for some 10 minutes and press resume. What happened here is that the show resumes briefly where it left, but then it jumps forward. It seems to me, but this is just my theory, that it jumps to somewhere near the catch-up point but farther away from catch-up the longer the pause is.

I don't need to pause for ten minutes to make it happen... pretty much any pause during livetv will jump ahead upon resume.

(I think there is also a problem that happens if you pause for so long that you're not in the "live" rolling file any more, but that's not what I or jcjeffries are talking about)

(edit: ok, now I can't get it to happen, but I'm testing on a client now... maybe this particular bug only happens on the server, but the server is unavailable at the moment.)

I do have skipping problems with the PC client and host not just the NMT (which is much improved since 1.5 when it wasn't good at all). Now I basically never pause live TV and only try shortish skips and that actually works fine for me. My real beef with the rolling file, is from the GBPVR days I lost the ability to save the live tv playback buffer which I used to use all the time and I still miss it.

On thing I have noted from my work on the NMT is that the change from dvr-ms and mpg muxing resulted in more files with irregular timelines from the broadcaster which are really tough to navigate. Old timers that have experienced PVR 150 driver and quartz.dll issues will no how bad this can be. My analog live tv aren't too bad but forget ATSC Skipping and pausing recordings with Timing.Info is so precise that if I know it is a show I will want to skip through, I record it. Of course with Timing.Info recording still can't be skipped on the client but that is another issue.
