Hello,

The March 25 drivers from hauppauge for the hdpvr seem to work much worse on my system, and every second day the usb device is unrecognised.

Does anyone have a copy of the older drivers they could supply me?

Cheers

Here you go:

http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/software/....29353.zip
http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/software/....29277.zip
http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/software/....29207.zip
http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/software/....29199.zip
http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/software/....5.7.0.zip

I am using the latest build and don't see the USB problem, just a semi-regular bug with NextPVR invalidating the device.

Very similar was happening to me! One of my HDPVRs was having the same issue, dropping "out" and going unrecognized. What was really happening was my power adapter for it was dying and under powering the device. This is a known issue with those adapters from a couple of threads I found and a better, compatible, adapter was suggested. I purchased one of these:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0044QMAFY/ref=...s_sce_dp_1

And it's been rock solid ever since. I now have another on-hand for when the adapter on my 2nd HD-PVR eventually fails too.

One way I noticed the under power of the device was that the LEDs on it would be VERY dim. If I disconnected the power adapter for a little while, they'd be "bright" again. This trick worked for awhile until it failed completely.

May or may not be your problem, but if the drivers don't help and you have a voltmeter handy, it's pretty easy to confirm.

You might try contacting Hauppauge. They sent me one for free when I asked. I did have to exchange a few emails before they sent it.

^ very good point (above). Mine was well out of warranty, so I didn't even try. From what I read, the design of them hasn't changed so folks speculated it would just happen again with a replacement eventually. The price for the 3rd party one was almost the same as if you bought one from the Hauppauge store. It's just a little beefier at 2.5A instead of 2.0A. The device shouldn't ever use more than 2A, but nice to have a cushion.

Thanks.

I'll try the drivers, and I have a couple of 5V / 3A supplies lying around the place, so might try them if I get no joy.
