First, how do I get NPVR to startup in "Stay on Top" mode? I get an unwanted taskbar at the bottom of the screen and have to right click everytime I reboot (with the NPVR shortcut in my startup folder).

Secondly, NPVR seems to have a short delay when skipping when viewing videos/recordings. Previously GBPVR was almost instantenous, you could hit the skip button on the remote and the playback would skip 10secs and the video/audio would instantly revert. Now in NPVR there is a small delay for the video to kick in. Kind of annoying when skipping through adbreaks etc, and also that I'm used to it being instantaneous. I've read a few threads on this but can't seem to find if there are any resolutions. Any ideas?

Other than these, loving NPVR!!

are you using the exact same set of decoders that you were with gbpvr?

Skipping was a problem in earlier releases but I think (after a bucket of work by Sub) most people are generally satisfied with the current skip performance.

with HD broadcasts, when I skip, the sound skips almost instantly and the video displays about 1.5 secs later.
standard def is about .8sec per skip.

gEd - no, not using the same decoders as now I have Win7 installed I can take advantage of the EVR renderer, and also the Cyberlink PowerDVD decoder which seems to be very good with default settings.

It seems very strange that the behaviour is worse now - as my new system (in sig below) is vastly superior to my old.

How did you measure the length of time for the video to kick in after skipping? Perhaps I can do the same and post the results to compare.

Many thanks.

I've now tried all sorts of combinations of renderer/decoder (including the same combination previously used with WinXP/GBPVR) and I still cannot reproduce the same instantaneous video skipping performance I had before. How can this be? I don't understand how it can be not as good?
