XBMCBuntu Frodo / OpenElec generic with NPVR addon?

hi guys,

usually ive just used packages.pulse-eight.net and run their install-xbmc script to keep my xbmcbuntu machines running with pvr. but they are still on eden (v11) so need to update to frodo (v12) of xbmc.

so far im using a img from here http://www.xbmcfreak.nl/en/
and ive tried Build 10/01/2012 (32 bit Build) - sub3-xbmc-pvr-addons-262683 by KRA77 from http://www.dotnetdevelopers.net/XBMC/xbmcpvr.html

but whenever i enable PVR with NPVR addon enabled, xbmc crashes are restarts.

im trying to get two old HTPCs up and running with NPVR as backend (they were using 4tr before, but attempting to switch back to npvr, working great on my pis), so want a lightweight OS like xbmcbuntu or openelec, but cant find a build that works with these.

anyone know of a build of xbmcbuntu or openelec that will help me out?

linux is problematic atm, you need I fairly new build, but too new might cause problems

Looking at this post, it seems we can get a new plugin soon that works with current daily xbmc build.

My first tests with Linux presented the same results (see the Linux Testing thread.) So now I am using an OpenElec ION 64 bit build, the 64 bit Linux add-on build of NPVR on a Zotac ION machine and it works great. thanks for that wileecoyote, generic worked great on one of my machines, but the other is Intel HD video based chipset so generic doesnt have the drivers for it and does everything in s/w so HD stuff doesnt play well.

anyone know where to get nightly builds for intel version of openelec?

Thanks, but unfortunately those aren't new enough (it looks like we need builds after Oct. 4 to work with the NPVR plugin).

My mistake. The latest builds are still Frodo builds even though they started removing "Frodo" from the file names.
