@toricred: your logs show that you've got a socket error on restarting NRecord, probably because the previous instance got stuck somehow. you'll need to reboot if you've not done so already.

do verify that your firewall is allowing NRecord.exe to communicate on the internet. that's the only difference between the automatic epg update and the manual one - one is called by NRecord.exe running as Local System, the other is called by NextPVR.exe running as a regular user.
server: NextPVR 5.0.7/Win10 2004/64-bit/AMD A6-7400k/hvr-2250 & hvr-1250/Winegard Flatwave antenna/Schedules Direct
main client: NextPVR 5.0.7 Desktop Client; LG 50UH5500 WebOS 3.0 TV

What if I have changed NRecord to run as a local user with log on as service rights? I ask because that is exactly how I have it configured.

Edit:

I also don't have the firewall running on this particular box so that can't be the cause.

I rebooted the computer, and rescheduled the EPG update so I could see it happen in the logs tonight. It worked perfectly. It must have been the socket problem. Thank you all so much for looking at this.
