Hi,
I have a Ceton InfiniTV PCI card installed on my Windows 7 box, and it's been working fine with Media Center.
I use Time Warner Cable for my TV service, and subscribe to the digital tier of channels. The Ceton card is cool in that
it works with a cable card supplied by TWC to handle the DRM encryption on all of TWC's digital channels, save for the local
broadcast channels which are "clear".

I thought I would give PVR a try as an alternative to Media Center, however when I attempt to configure it, I don't see
anything showing up in the Devices tab from the Settings option.

Will the Ceton InfiniTV card work with PVR? Has anyone else on the forum been able to get this to work?
Do I need additional plug-ins ?
Can't seem to find much on the forums about it.

Thanks,

Some users have had varying forms of success with the NetworkRecorder plugin and SageDCT

Unfortunately, for cable card devices, there is only built in support for the Hauppauge DCR-2650 and SiliconDust HDHR Prime. As Martin said though, some people have managed to get the Ceton devices working via the NetworkRecorder plugin and SageDCT.

This will allow you to watch/record/stream the channels marked Copy-Freely. The channels marked Copy-Never or Copy-Once are only available in Media Center.

Guys,
Thanks for the help. I've got the Network Recorder plugin installed, attempting to define the device in NextPVR, a little confused...
Do I need to modify the XML file or do I configure the device in NextPVR, or both... The default XML is set to communicate to loopback address 127.0.0.1
Here is a copy of what my Ceton network adapter looks like under Windows 7:

NetworkRecorder talks to SageDCT not the Ceton Check out the PDF on the wiki, it was written when NexPVR didn't support the HDHR Prime but the SageDCT info is still good.

I got it to work, configured one of my tuners and am able to see my clear QAM local broadcast channels. It's still a bit quirky though, whenever I attempt to change the channel, the new channel comes up for a few seconds, then I get a blank screen, and it stays blank until I exit the NextPVR app and restart it.
Is this some kind of a buffer problem?

It doesn't sound like a buffer issue. Upload your NextPVR logs and I will have a look. Also if you enable logging in SageDCT I might see something there.

Hi Martin,
I've recreated the scenario discussed, I start N-PVR, tune a clear QAM channel, then I switch to a new channel. It comes up briefly for a second or two, then I get a black screen.
I've attached the zipped log file directory, hope this helps to determine the problem.
Thanks.
