How does NextPVR group recordings for XBMC?

I have run NexPVR before and noticed that NextPVR groups shows into a hierarchy for recordings in XBMC. Click on a show and episodes appear under it. A very nice feature.

Since I am a long time WMC user, I am thinking of using it instead since there is a PVR add on for it. No offense all to NextPVR as it is a fantastic effort.

I have been a developer from everything from DBase II all the way through to Java and C#.

I am trying to help out with the development of the WMC PVR. WMC PVR is up and running except for a few features.

Hopefully I can get just a little help here to get us started.

I would like to know how to make the Recordings show in a hierarchical listing. similar to NextPVR addon in XBMC. The WMC PVR stores it's files in a flat directory. There are no sub-directories for each series. Any tips on how to make XBMC see the structure as a hierarchy?

I have played with the strDirectory of PVR_RECORDING with no luck.

I have posted on the developer's forum in XBMC with no luck. Hoping someone here would share a little knowledge. It would be nice to know where the PVR Addon API is documented. It does not appear to be documented in the developer wiki

Is the API documented anywhere? Apologies but I am just getting started here with the internals of XBMC. Could you give me a bit of help on how to get our directory stucture working?
