Yes, VLC is a lot more versatile and more robust. I should be able to rig something which starts the stream using the NEWA service and then passes the url to MX Player (or whatever media player app is preferred by nDroid users) - this would make it transparent to the end-user.

Cheers,
Brian

As an update, I never effectively got remote streaming working for my phone via ndroid - no matter as I can use NEWA- but have started using it for streaming on a lan-based android box at home. It works just fine tossing un-transcoded video to the built-in video app - (standard nDroid, that is) - with the "TE" version, while I far prefer the new UI for use on a TV screen, the streaming seems hit or miss. Sometimes the videos play, sometimes they launch the player but don't start. They always seem to play reliably from the standard ndroid app.

agreed on the standard app - works without issue on all my tablets/devices but the TE version, no streaming of recordings at all which is a shame as it ruins what is a really great application.

Brian, when are you likely going to fix this? Is there a plan now for TE?

Thanks.

I'm currently looking into streaming using VLC at the server end and some new stuff UJB has put in to NEWA.

Cheers,
Brian
