Upon further review...it's new MB (CPU & RAM) time; there are signs that the magic smoke has been leaking out! So much for re-tasking an older computer. If anyone has a favorite all-in-one motherboard I should look at, please let me know as I'm now in acquisition mode. Big Grin At least I can work towards building a quieter PC...

For the latest news about versions and everything else, read the first three posts (read all of the first three posts and don't skip ...there will be a quiz) in the thread at http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post464832

Oh, man, a quiz? But it's the weekend! Big Grin Thanks for the link. Just for 'fun' I installed NPVR on my workstation last night, followed the directions you folks laid out, and it worked perfectly. I'll do the same with the HTPC once the cooked parts are replaced. Thanks for the help!

for a HTPC build, or for a general-use build, this is where the HD 6450 shines! It sips energy, so you can run it with a 300W PSU. There's no fan, just a large heatsink so it runs silent. It doesn't get hot and doesn't use much power, and is DirectX 11 compatible. I ran 3DMark11 and got a low 501 score with a Core i3-2120 processor, so it is not setting any records. But it is reliable and runs cold.
