No Live TV - "Unable to communicate with recording service"

Did you move the program directory to D: from C: at anytime? This is not the first time I have seen that error when the program directory is not on C:\

Yes - moved from C: to D: 2 years ago.
Note:
- that everything worked before the upgrade from NPVR 2.xxx to NPVR 3.1.1 a week ago.
- all other functions are working fine - except LIVE TV!

How can I see where the program references C: instead of D:? - the config file? the database? the registry?

probably not. the OP's problem was due to some odd configuration issue that's never been encountered before or since. It seems he never returned after 3.2.9 was released to get a patch to diagnose the issue.

please describe your exact symptoms and post your logs.
