A recording wont play in X-NEWA

You select "Play" and it does the same as if you selected "Close". It doesn't like "£" (UK Pound sign) in the title. I dug out an old Windows client and it plays ok in that and it plays ok as a file in XBMC.

From the NextPVR server NPVR.log:-

Ok thanks I have changed the way I do utf-8 parsing so hopefully it will work i the next version. It does now when I create them manually.

Thanks. It must be difficult to anticipate these programme titles with unusual characters in them. I didn't know if it was a X-NEWA problem or something on the server.

Not really since it normally would be either ascii or utf-8, at least as I support it. The trouble was NextPVR didn't used to work with utf-8 and I didn't test enough on 3.2.9
