AFAIK, only the locals are available in clear QAM on CableVision, I could be wrong though.

Sub - Whenever you have some time (chuckle) I've attached the log and filter files.

TIA

Hi - That's my understanding. But there are these 70+ viewable channels, all but a few ID'ed as digital by the TV set tuner?

I'm starting to believe that this device is NTSC/ATSC only. I'm finding conflicting info but that would be a joke on me that I could laugh about...

I though you said it found some QAM channels? If it's finding zero QAM channels, then you're probably right. Your HVR-1250 should do QAM though.

That scan doesn't show it ever locking onto a channel. With the PCTV devices, there used to be a registry setting that you could change in XP (and maybe Vista) to get it to tune QAM: Search the registry for "ATSCMode" and change all instances to a value of "2".

No one was ever able to get it to work with Win7/Win8 though AFAIK.

Thanks to the folks that tried to help...They actually made two models 800e's which really have nothing in common hardware wise. Mine is the original that does not do QAM. Moved on to the HVR-1250 and all is golden.
