3.3.8 unable to connect to recording service

I have been running with 3.2.9 (and others) stably for a long time. After updating to 3.3.8 I can watch live tv from sky through my hauppauge analog card once but when I stop it and then try again I get the unable to connect to recording service message.

This does not happen with my other tuner which is a DVB-T usb stick
