So far I've been enjoying the new and improved features in 3.3.8. I'm running the stock build of 3.3.8 (includes patch #1 only)

I've been running up against a wall with a database locked error. Kinda kills my EPG updates, and recordings.

It first shows up in NPVR.log.2 in this batch.

Last time it did this in 3.2.9, i just grabbed the empty.db, and did a quick rebuild. I've done this with 3.3.8, but it still happens regularly.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Joe

If you temporarily disable/remove the TV Listings plugin, does the issue still happen? It's the TV Listings plugin listing the exception.

Something is wrong the SD update is taking 30 minutes and then your PC goes to sleep before it is finished.

I've removed TV LIstings, with luck that will clear up the db locked. It would happen right when it switched from saving EPG files, to updating recording schedule. I noticed it was in TV listings, but wasn't sure if that was a symptom of a deeper database problem, or a cause.

I orginally though it was going to sleep because it hung on the db locked. But this last time, with no tv listings plug in, it went to sleep during the "saving epg listings" stage. I'm not sure why it takes so long to update the listings, almost 40 minutes or so. My DB is 86 mb now, I'm not sure if that is normal sized, or now full of trash from all the db locks fails.

Does the saving EPG enforce a keep awake? When it is doing a recording, it has no trouble keeping awake for the full length + 30minutes (which is where the sleep timer is now in an attempt to let the EPG update finish).

Thanks, Sub & Martin.

* Since I entombed TVlistings, it seems to have made it through a manual update with out and db locks..

No, in my experience with the old SD. The sleep time is calculated from the time NextPVR wake up the PC too and Lao Pan pointed out a second "hidden" sleep timer for "System unattended sleep timeout" that I needed to set to avoid this problem.
