Point me in the right direction....Please

Hello to all of you out there...

I have been thinking about getting involved in recording prog's onto my hard-drive of my pc.

I have got Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1 installed on my pc, along with GB-PVR.

Now what I need to know is:
a) what else do I need?
b) what do I do with it? (polite please)

You will need a supported TV-card to do the actual capturing. See http://www.gbpvr.com for the supported cards. The Hauppauge PVR150MCE seems to be a good and cheap source.

You can rewatch the recorded video on your PC. If you want to see it on a TV near your PC you will need to have a Video Card with TV-Out, a TV-Card with TV-Out (such as the Hauppauge PVR-350) or a separate TV-Out card (such as the X-Card).

When the TV is 'not so near' you can either burn the recordings on (S)VCD/DVD or get a Hauppauge MediaMVP box, which connects to your PC through ethternet.
