Commercial skip and missed forst occurance of recurring recordings

I read on a comparison of PVR software on Wiki that Nextpvr has the ability to skip commercials. Is this so? If so how do you set it up?

Also I setup several shows on Wednesday afternoon to be recurring but those shows, which broadcast on Wednesday night did not record. They now show up in "Pending" for next week. Why did that happen?

I zipped my log files and, as I understand it, I'm supposed to attach them via "Go Advanced". So I'll try doing that.

What was the names/times of these recordings that failed, so we know where to look in the logs?

As mentioned already, if you want to skip adverts, you need to install and configure comskip.

Looking at NRecord.log for the 11th the only show you and scheduled at around 4pm was Better Call Saul

Is it possible you created these outside NextPVR? Maybe NEWA or MB3?

The shows/ times/channel that I programmed in to the EPG of Nextpvw were:

Arrow/Wed. 8:00pm/4
Criminal Minds/Wed. 9:00pm/11
Empire/Wed. 9:00pm/10
Stalker/Wed. 10:00pm/11
Suits/Wed. 10:00pm/37
The Americans/Wed. 10:00pm/40 Note: "Stalker","Suits" and "The Americans" conflict as I only have one dual TV tuner card.

Elementary/Thu. 10:00pm/11
Scandal/Thu. 9:00pm/9
The Big Bang Theory/Thu. 8:00pm/11
The Blacklist/Thu. 9:00pm/5
Vikings/Thu. 10:00pm/72

I know that I programmed these into Nextpvr with the EPG because they are still there. Incidentally, of the three conflicting shows set for Wed. 10:00 pm, only "Stalker" shows up in "Pending Recordings" ("Suits" and "The Americans" do not).

Better Call Saul was set as 2 single occurence settings for around 12:00am and 1:15am Thursday morning.

As for comskip, I downloaded the zip file and read the following instructions, and I quote, "Running Comskip automatically by GBPVR

There are multiple ways to let GBPVR activate Comskip. The simplest approach is to enable Comskip in the configuration tab of GBPVR.".

I made the connection that GBPVR is an earlier name for Nextpvr, however, I am unable to find the "configuration tab" referenced in the instruction.

I copied all the files, whose names begin with "comskip", in "comskip81_069.zip" into the Nextpvr root "C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR" per instructions. Is that all that's necessary to get Nextpvr to skip the commercials in my future recordings or is there something else that needs to be configured?

It would be good if you could recreate the problem ...

Re-boot to restart the NextPVR recording service and re-initialise all the logs.
Set a recording using the technique that is getting the wrong result and use a random show that should record within the next half hour or so.
After the show fails to record ... post the logs again with a description of what you did together with the name of the show that did not record.

Comskip: Okay, I'll checkout the link.

EPG problem: Thank you trying to help... I think I've figured it out on my own. If I have further problems I'll post the logs again and describe what I did in my attempt to setup a recording event and tell you which show I tried to record.
