Hi All -

This issue occurs only with certain shows (Jeopardy! & Elementary) that had worked fine previously.

I can set them up to record "All Episodes on this channel" and they appear in the "Recurring Recordings" list but nothing appears in the "Pending Recordings" list and the shows are not recorded.  Several other shows are set to record "All Episodes ...." which appear in the PR list and record as expected.

Three log files are attached.  NPVR.log.1  was created before I add Jeopardy! to the recurring list.  NPVR.log was created when I closed NPVR after add Jeopardy! to the list.

No other log files appear to be modified for this operation.

Jeopardy! now appears in the Recurring list but not in the Pending list.  Any thoughts about why this is happening?

Any and all help here will be appreciated.

Dave

Make sure your logs are zipped when you attach them otherwise the server silently ignores them. Assuming you are still using v4 the option to zip up the logs is on the first setup menu. We need to see all the logs.

Unfortunately you stopped your NextPVR service too many times so the recording update from yesterday was lost. Could you click on Update EPG on Settings->Channels and zip and upload the logs again.

New log attached.

I don't think the problem is with the EPG.  The show is shown there for both an OTA channel and a cable channel.  Neither will work for recurring recording but both work fine for "record once" usage and the program does appear in the recurring list but only the "record once" makes it into the "Pending" list.

Everything was working fine until I did some messing around to get the recordings stored on a network drive - I believe I my have somehow screwed the .db3 file causing the problem.

Thanks for your help.

That is the easiest way for me to describe how to see what is going on with recordings it is not really EPG related. You likely watched and deleted these reruns earlier since next weeks Jeopardy! is being scheduled.

For Jeopardy!
Code:
2020-09-09 15:09:56.875    [DEBUG][6]       ...already got this episode: EP000023484458 (recently deleted)
2020-09-09 15:09:56.875    [DEBUG][6]       ...already got this episode: EP000023484460 (recently deleted)

and same for Elementary

Code:
2020-09-09 15:09:55.757    [DEBUG][6]       ...already got this episode: EP015686040041 (recently deleted)
2020-09-09 15:09:55.757    [DEBUG][6]       ...already got this episode: EP015686040042 (recently deleted)
2020-09-09 15:09:55.757    [DEBUG][6]       ...already got this episode: EP015686040043 (recently deleted)
2020-09-09 15:09:55.757    [DEBUG][6]       ...already got this episode: EP015686040044 (recently deleted)

If you want to lose all this history and get these reruns again run

NextPVR -removehistory

Interesting!  Before sent the logs I had added record all and removed it for Jeopardy several times.  Jeopardy normally airs daily so I rarely checked the proceeding week.

It will air tonight and tomorrow (Friday preempted by football) but these aren't shown to be recorded.  The interesting part is the next week starts the new season!

I have set it up to record "all episodes" but apparently it's only working for "new" episodes!  (a bug, perhaps?)

I'm guessing this means starting next week Jeopardy will record until they once again start reruns but it won't help me for Elementary - they are all reruns.

FYI, I have discovered "xxx in this time slot" won't work for Jeopardy or Elementary either.

Thanks again,

Dave

Record all episodes does still ignore duplicates so you don't record multiple copies of the same episode whether you delete them or not.

There is setting you can change to true if you do want to allow duplicates. I have never used it myself.

<AllowDuplicates>false</AllowDuplicates>

Went back and really really read your message and think I understand things now (my bad for just glancing things over!)

Do I run NextPVR -removehistory from a cmd prompt to do this? How many days or weeks is "recently deleted"?

Our messages flew by one another somewhere out in the stratosphere!

I may play with the setting you mentioned now I've learned what was going on behind my back all this time. I can appreciate it's usefulness and may do even more "record all." Can the "recently" time period be user controlled?
