Hi All,

I'm having a problem with some of my channels in NPVR. I have spent hours troubleshooting with no luck. I found an error on the channels that won't work in the logs and googling it and looking through the forums didn't turn up anything.

I was wondering if anyone has come across the message STREAM_TYPE_UNKNOWN in there ndigitalhost log file? I had no problems before upgrading to 3.4.8 from 3.3.8. The upgrade might be unrelated but the timing is too close to ignore.

Random channels are no longer working after the upgrade. I get the STREAM_TYPE_UNKNOWN error in the logs. Might not be the problem but its all I could find in the logs.

I cleared the logs and then started a known working channel and it worked great. Then stopped the channel. I then tried starting a known bad channel and got a black screen and then stopped the channel and then the service. I then added the log files to the rar.

Any help or pointers would be great!

Damian

Also I forgot to mention at the same time some of the channels guide data disappeared. When I in to check the mappings it was blank. I reselected it from the xml and the data was updated in the guide refresh.

This in itself isn't a problem.

NextPVR stores whether the channel is H.264 or MPEG2 at scan time. Each time you start live tv or change channels, it spends a few milliseconds looking at the stream to confirm if it's still the same or if has changed. Some times it can't manage to determine the stream type in that timeframe, and it'll log this STREAM_TYPE_UNKNOWN message, and continue on with the assumption the original scan type or was correct. The scenario it really changes is if you're using an HDHomeRun Extend, which can be delivering either MPEG2 or H264 for the same channels depending on configuration.
