Remote record button

Is there a way to have red button or record button on cec connected tv remote on rpi actually work as a record button the same as nexpvr does on a PC

As in if i press the red or record button while in tvguide it does a quick record

I have tried every sequence on plugged in keyboard to find the record but they just seem to make a pop up happen (saying i dont have pvr enabled or similar)

Ctrl-k is the key, if the Record key is mapped to an internal functional, you may need to unmap it.

dont know what i was doing thanks got it working on the red coloured button
samsung seems to not share record button on cec.

found keymap editor now so its easy for dummies like me

ok ive tried mapping guide button on remote to to F1 with no luck.(so tv guide opens rather than kodi trying to control the built in pvr)
oh this is in x-newa
