I'm having trouble with EPG data. I've downloaded MC2XML.exe and set it up. It seems to have downloaded an xml file with channel listing data. I've then setup a channel in Nextpvr, ie mapped the channel to this file and selected the channel name. Nextpvr never updates with any data though.

Is there something wrong with my Nextpvr or mc2xml? I downloaded MS. legacy data with it. As I said the file appears to have listings.

There have been several reports to suggest that mc2xml is no longer working as expected.

I have been using Windows Media Center but now with Windows 10 coming out Microsoft is scraping it. Thanks Microsoft. In any case, with WMC it appears that MS had switched tv guide providers at the end of July. WMC stopped getting listings, but I was able to reconfigure it, and it now works.

That is a temp solution, I've just recently setup NPVR and Kodi. I thought maybe mc2xml would work with legacy MS (and switch providers automatically). Like I said the file it has data in it. Although, since this is my first time using xml listings, I couldn't say whether the data is correct. Perhaps it still has problems. That's what the other posts seem to say.

I also just tried setting up zap2xml. Similarly, it downloaded a file. I pointed NPVR to it and it doesn't get tv guide data either?

Last, the EPG data (that comes via antenna) works but it seems to have holes in it (a lot of 'no show details'). Perhaps that is the quality of this data? I see a setting for time that maxes at 360 minutes. Is that the most EPG data that can be retrieved?

Any info regarding any of these questions would be appreciated.

You should find a line similar to <programme start="20150803060000 +0100" stop="20150803091500 +0100" in the xml file. The date is the first eight digits in the "start=" value (the +0100 is a timezone adjustment). It may be that your file contains old data.

Did you update the Mapping field in the Channel Details dialog ... http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...n.Channels ?

If all else fails, please post logs ... http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post480931

Zap2xml is actually working. I just see that channels I mapped to it have updated. So there's no need to go thru the mc2xml file. Although, I had looked before and there were future entries in it. Something else must be wrong with it. Thanks for your help.

mc2xml only downloads data between July 13 & July 29 for myself, so if you just look at it quickly, it appears to still be working. Zap2xml has worked well for me, even if it doesn't have the data automatically that mc2xml provided. There a way with the new version to get additional data, but it breaks the guideplus run with my channels, so I just use the basic data.

One thing to note with zap2xml: there seems to be a day here and there which doesn't download correctly, and you'll get a single show to last 6, 10, up to 18 hours on each channel. If this happens, I had to go into settings and purge the epg file, and then re-import a day later. I'm not sure if the download gets hung up or what happens, but it's happened on a single day in the past 10 days that I've used it, and had to purge to get it corrected.

Maybe you could specify -S 1 to zap2xml command line.
I was also having trouble with Snort running on my pfsense firewall when I was updating the schedule,
I had to suppress one Snort rule that gave probably false attack :
ET MALWARE Suspicious Mozilla User-Agent - Likely Fake (Mozilla/4.0),
however, this morning I didn't get that alert, some maybe the Snort rules changed during the day.
