Upgrade to Win10 Broke NPVR & Kodi

I had everything working fine on win 8.1. One box is running NPVR and is connected to lots of storage. I could access everything through Kodi on my Win 8.1 laptop and on a raspberry Pi. I installed Win 10 on the laptop and the server box, and I can no longer connect. NPVR works fine on the server box. Program info, recordings, etc. are all available. But Kodi says it lost connection to NPVR. I looked at firewall settings, and everything appears to be allowed. I even added some rules, but they didn't help.

Has anyone had trouble upgrading to Win 10? Any suggestions?

I am running npvr on windows 10. I had issue with connecting to my Nas but that was an account login that I changed in the services.msc screen. For the heck of it I ran kodi as a client on my laptop and set my server as my htpc. I was able to get it to work. So it is possible!

My first thought is IP address of server and making sure your clients match the IP address and port numbers. Second is firewall settings blocking access.

Yeah something weird going on with mine also I use x-newa and takes ages to start sometimes now on rpi now used to be like 5 seconds now it can take anything from 10secs to minutes
Client pc also has ugly pop up saying check settings but then works

Oops mine is from npvr update but may be the same as what you are seeing

I have a similar setup - PC running Win10 (clean install) and a couple Rasp Pi's as clients. All are working perfectly now. I do recall, I had a problem with my NIC driver when I did the clean install, I couldn't get WOL to work. After a little googling I discovered that the driver that came with Win10 was not the best one to use. I went to the RealTek site and downloaded a newer driver than the one that shipped in Win10 and all was good. This may not be your problem, but may help.

Also, any errors in the event log related to the network?

I see zero reason to use Windows 10, unless you have a specific reason for switching I just don't see it.

a bit off topic but im interested in getting a secondary device for another tv, maybe a raspberry pi device....

my htpc has 6 tuners with nextpvr and kodi... i assume you're just using the nextpvr addon and pointing the address at your htpc's nextpvr, what are you using to sync the rest of kodi?

Anyone having trouble with Windows 10/NextPVR running on AMD CPU/Video card or APU then use the AMD 15.8 beta video driver as the 15.7.1 version has issues with DXVA hardware acceleration.
