Hiya!

Been reading the forums and spotted a request that was near what I'd like to request but not quite.

When I've scanned for channels there's usually a whole lot of duplicated (at least, when using Freesat in the UK). At the moment I have to scroll up and down to select the duplicates and then manually merge them together (DVB-T and DVB-S sources).

What'd be great is to be able to click the column headers in the Channels list so that it's easier to spot channels of the same name and merge before sorting by the channel number again. Hopefully not too much work to add and would make life a lot easier (would love to test a pre-release if it makes it!).

Do love the NextPVR. Used to use GBPVR back in the day with an analog Hauppauge WinTV card ... then got a DVB-T based card (Dual tuner Hauppauge Nova-T) and now have a DVB-S2 card. Front end I'm using Kodi on multiple devices (kindle, Pi, PC!) and dude ... NextPVR is so sweet to use with it all. Really appreciate the work! Big Grin

Have you tried using the 'Groups' button on Settings->Channels screen? Its can do some of this. Might not be quite what you're after though.

Hi sub!

Yeah but as an example if I've got BBC One on channel 1 from DVB-T and then BBC One on channel 100 from DVB-S am I right in thinking it's best to merge these channels so that there's one BBC One in the list, relating to two sources so that Next PVR has the option to use either card for the channel if one is busy?

* other channels are available and channel numbers are made up! Tongue

Whether you merge them or not is up to you. I probably would. Some people don't like to when they're on different source.

Some of this stuff gets a little more tricky when you've got different sources for the same channel (ie DVB-S vs DVB-T etc), since they sometimes use slightly different names etc on each. Still entirely doable, but a little more manual.

Yeah, that's why I was hoping it'd be possible to sort the list on the Channels screen to make merging them easier. For Freesat and the terrestrial DVB-T seem to use the same names (ignoring the regional variations of the main channels) so sorting the list would make merging the same channels from the two sources a lot quick is what I was hoping. Smile

It's not to change how NextPVR sorts or deals with the channels backend, purely the GUI I'm thinking of if that helps.
