No. Can you try this updated file, attempt a scan, then post the npvr.log again? Added more logging.

Hello Again. Thank you once again for your time.
I replaced the original dll file with the one you gave me. I attempted another scan (with the same result). I have attached the log files. Hope I did all this correctly.

Sorry, I don't know. The logs aren't turning up anything particularly useful. I'm gonna have to say this tuner doesn't look like it's compatible with NextPVR.

OK. That sounds a likely cause. Thank you for your time. I'll check back here occasionally to see if anyone else has experience with this tuner.

I had almost given up and was resigned to NPVR not working with my AverMedia tuner. After a lot of faffing about, I found a discussion on a Spanish website about the tuner and a link to download the AverMedia TV software. To my surprise it worked fine and I could watch TV. The interface is dreadful, which is why I foolishly uninstalled it in the first place.
Out of curiosity I tried NPVR again and it worked. I guess there must be some file in the AverMedia software which is needed before NPVR can work with this tuner. It's not the driver as this is the same as before.
I am posting this in the unlikely event that someone else has had the same problem.
NVPR is a great piece of kit and I will make a donation.
I have only one small problem (which I can live with). I tried to create a group of favourite channels but I was unable to save them. When I click “OK” the program becomes unresponsive.
If anyone has a fix for this I would be grateful for a bit of advice.
I have attached the log file which I copied immediately the problem occurred.

Thanks again.

Try running

NextPVR -updatedb

in a command prompt window, then try creating your Group again.

Hello Alex,
I'm being a bit thick here but I don't really understand what you mean. I know how to run something from a command prompt but I cannot find an .exe file with the name NextPVR -updatedb. There is (of course) NextPVR.exe but that just starts NPVR. Could you spend a moment to walk me through this. I'm not very technically minded.
Thank you

-updatedb is a command line parameter for the NextPVR.exe programme

you could also type NextPVR.exe -updatedb into a command prompt - you may have to navigate to Program Files\NPVR first.

Alex....spot on! I took an hour to remember how to use the command prompt. I'm very rusty and it took a while to navigate. Happy to say all is now working perfectly.
A big thanks for your help.

Tony.
