Good morning!

Recordings still going to the C drive but an error is showing up in the logs now. Looks like it's getting an error on the D drive , which is local and then does not try the UNC patch. Full logs attached. I also added my config file so you could see if there was anything odd in it causing the problem.

Code:
2016-07-12 04:29:00.154    [DEBUG][9]    Default Recording Directory has 224697049088 bytes available space
2016-07-12 04:29:00.154    [DEBUG][9]    [C_Recordings] C_Recordings has 516669964288 bytes available space
2016-07-12 04:29:00.180    [DEBUG][9]    Unexpected error checking available disk space on: D:\Recordings\

Is D:\ a mapped drive or local drive? If local drive, what filesystem (FAT/NTFS)?

D is a local drive and it's NTFS

Now that I've had time to look at this again, I have it working. I suppose the first thing to do was to try and record something to the UNC path, it failed due to a permissions issue. I will never fully understand Windows permissions. Full Control granted to everyone should be just that, everyone but in Microsoft's mind it is not. I changed the NPVR service logon account to my own and things started working.

Though you may still want to work on the error reporting, though that is up you Sub. Thanks for the fine product!

Below is what the log looks like on my machine. I don't see anything to do with the UNC path and the default has less space than the C Drive

Code:
2016-08-14 17:32:25.191    [DEBUG][9]    Looking for recording directory with most space available

I have my video folder located on a Synology NAS and am attempting to save recordings to this folder. I've specified the address using UNC but still get failure due to permissions issue as noted by @cbgifford

I attempted to change the Logon Account associated with the NVPR Recording Service and noted that the account I use to login to my Synology doesn't seem to exist as a service account. I added the new Account "Paul" and this was re displayed as .\Paul

As I feared the service won't restart as this is an invalid account.

My understanding of Service Accounts is limited. It looks like I'm missing something obvious, but what is it? Any advice for a service account thicko?

Am clearly not a service account thicko as NVPR Recording Service is now running on NAS. One odd side effect though. When launching XXX an error "do not have permissions to access ASP.NET temporary directory occurred. This was filed by creating the missing directory and granting access to the new service account. Maybe this was due to .NET being installed before the service account was created.
