Time out before recording starts?

When you click on live and wait for the channel to display or a recording is going to start, is there a time limit set in NPVR that it will wait for the channel to show? If the channel does not appear in the set time, is this when you get a failed to record message or whatever it does state?
I ask because when I display a channel from satellite, it takes much longer for it to display than an OTA one. My thought this may be the reason for some of these recordings to not record.
Or are my thoughts totally wrong?

There is no time out. If it receives any errors, it'll mark the recording as failed, and note what exactly failed. If it receives no errors, it just keeps waiting, for the device to eventually deliver data. If it hasn't received any by the time the recording is due to end, then it notes the situation (recording completed successfully, but device delivered no data)

When are your recordings failing? Is your computer awake or is it waking up to do the recording?

Thanks Sub. That tells me to check the logs if/when it happens again. Just a "now and then" thing with the satellite card.

It only happens maybe 1 out of 10 so not a real problem. The computer is running when this has happened.
