Having just installed NextPVR I'm now trying to figure out how to auto update the EPG listings 7 days out (USA). I tried following a few tutorials on using mc2xml but the listings don't update, and I now have read that Microsoft is no longer updating EPG listings anyway so mc2xml won't work.

What is the easiest and free way to auto update the guide listings in NPVR?

If you do a donation 20$ to mc2xml site you will get a new version of mc2xml which is updating your EPG. Otherwise for 25$ per year you have Schedule Direct

For the price of 1 starbuck's a month (i.e. $25/yr), I highly recommend Schedules Direct. Integration with NextPVR is pretty seamless, I've used it for both Seattle, WA and Modesto, CA with very accurate EPG and great support.

I decided to get the donated version of mc2xml and it appears to work great.

I have both solution and I agree with JavaWiz, Schedules Direct is the best with all my channels filled in EPG (not the case with mc2xml). Also great support from them.
