I am having issues with my Intel NUC 54250 (Intel HD 5000 and Core I5 running Windows 10) and playing live tv through nextpvr, well through any other PVR for that matter. The only way I have a trouble free experience is via DLNA or the HDHomerun view app. When I use Kodi to view the live stream or NextPVR, I experience the same issue. http://imgur.com/5KCeQSE. You can see the line that cuts through her dress. These lines continuously show up at random and they are accompanied by audio glitches.

I have updated chipset drivers, audio drivers, graphics drivers, BIOS etc.....I have used a whole host of codecs. Nothing is issue free. Cyberlink PowerDVD 12 and 13 don't have the artifacts but are really slow and choppy. This machine is definitely powerful enough to serve as a backend. It is not an issue with reception because I have plus 90% on most channels. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Artifacts like that image are usually as a result of reception issues, or more specifically missing bits of data.

In the case of an HDHomeRun tuner, I guess it could be either reception issues, or network packets dropped. If the latter, wired vs wireless, and main application set in HDHomeRun utility may be a factor.

That is what I originally thought, but my signal strength for almost every channel is at least over 90% and at 100 for most of the the main channels. If it were reception I would think the issue would be there when streaming via dlna from the HDHomerun, except it runs flawlessly. My BDA compatibility mode is set to default and not NextPVR. Since I have the newest software, there is no main application

My network is all wired. I appreciate your input.

You may find setting it to NextPVR helps, since the data transfer rates will be reduced, and more like you'd get over DLNA. ie, reducing the chances of dropped packets.

While unlikely, for me it was a bad network cable that resulted in the same symptoms. A one footer no less.

Ok. Despite have nice switches, a gigabit network with CAT 6, it is indeed packet loss. I did a low level packet loss test and I am dropping packets. I did move it to another switch before I had these problems (I did have poor signal strength anyway and I had to opt for a more robust antenna).
