Yeah, I think my fix only helped recurring recoridngs. Unfortunately I'm gonna have to fix editing one-off recordings in Kodi, which means it'll take a while to make it through the release process into a kodi build.

OK, thanks. I'm looking forward to seeing it working.

discovered this problem today after missing a couple of recordings last night. i thought the missed recordings were due to updating Kodi to Jarvis the day before. i also did a channel re-scan a few days ago to add a new channel. somewhere in between a few of my recurring recordings got borked. i ended up deleting and re-scheduling all my stuff.

is there an easier way to scan/add a single channel that doesn't require setting all the others up again?

You can scan an just add a single channel (ie, untick all the others). All the other existing ones stay there.

I tried the steps again and I can edit a timer recording.
I'm also going to upgrade my Kodi from 16 RC3 to 16 stable

Hi sub,

no improvements on this issue in Kodi 16.1 RC1, I'm afraid. But a slightly different behaviour, though. This is what I did (still under Windows 7 and NextPVR 3.6.6):

1) Start Kodi and switch to EPG
2) Select a programme from EPG, press ENTER and select RECORD. ==> Timer is added to Kodi Timer list as well as NextPVR pending recordings list.
3) Switch to Kodi Timer list, select the recording and press ENTER ==> The Timer edit dialog opens
4) Press OK button (without having edited anything before) ==> Kodi 16.0 would now send an error message. Instead, Kodi 16.1 duplicates the Timer (in Kodi as well as in NextPVR) !!!!!
5) Delete the duplicated recording by pressing ENTER and selecting DELETE from the context menu.
6) Press ENTER on the remaining timer ==> The Edit dialog opens
7) Change the start and end padding and select OK button ==> the same error dialog as in Kodi 16.0 final opens. The log shows the following lines:

22:43:24 T:20276 ERROR: PVR - PVR::CPVRClient::UpdateTimer - addon '127.0.0.1:connected' returned an error: the command failed
22:43:24 T:20276 ERROR: PVR - PVR::CPVRClients::UpdateTimer - cannot update timer on client '20578': the command failed

Attached please find the complete Kodi logfile.

So from my point of view there's two issues to be taken care of now:
1) The timer duplication upon pressing OK in the timer edit dialog.
2) The error message upon editing a timer.

Could you please give me an indication on when this could be taken care of? Thanks in advance.

The updated NShared.dll posted earlier in this thread will correct the ability edit recurring recordings in Kodi.

For editing one-off recordings, a change to the addon source has been submitted, but it's not yet made it into an official release. Some types of edits will need 3.7.x of NextPVR.

In summary, it's complicated to coordinate the release of features/fixes in multiple separate projects that have different release cycles.

I recently tried editing a timer and the save failed again.

I had a timer that had all days selected. I tried to edit to so it only recorded on Thursdays. Clicking OK from Kodi 16.1 does not show an error, but the timer is not saved. When I view, all days are selected. Same if I exit and restart Kodi.

I have the updated .dll from this thread (I stopped the NextPVR service before installing the dll)

Installed Kodi kodi-16.1-Jarvis and 3.6.6 NextPVR today, messed around with getting channels setup the way I like, changed things a few times with a SD PCI and a dual chip HD PCI-e card, had same problem as above, went to System/TV-Settings/ and cleared all data and was then able to choose record via "Add Timer" probable cause for me was old data stored after messing around and changing things while setting up cards.

Hope this helps.

Just went to delete a re-occurring manual timer, could not, tried to delete it and could not, wanted to add it through guide as it was the first timer I had added and had since worked out how to add it through the guide, went through the steps I mention above and was able to then delete and add the scheduled recording through the guide, may be I will have to do this until the problem is resolved.
