HDPVR analog/spdif switching issue

having hard time getting npvr to switch to analog audio...
most of my channels are spdif, but one is analog, for viewing my stb dvr stuff...
if i manually put it in analog mode, it switches properly to spdif when i choose a spdif channel.. But after it is in spdif mode, it won't switch back to analog mode when i select the analog channel..
in logs it says it is setup for analog but it never changes the filter settings...

anything else that you need?

am using latest hdpvr1212 drivers..[hdpvr_1.7.1.30059]

i've made a temp workaround by inserting a capture program, that changes the setting and captures 0 secs and exits, as a blaster exe for that channel..
but it takes longer to execute than native so a fix would be better..
hope you still have your original hdpvr around somewhere..

If you watch the SPDIF channel, then stop it for say 30 seconds, can you then watch the channel with RCA audio?

nope...it's been this way for quite a while..i just forgot to mention because i didn't use it very often..
and i actually thought the analogs went out on my hdpvr becuase of it..lol
didnt know it wasn't till i tried changing it in graphedit..

That's particularly odd. Back-to-back recordings or channel changes in live tv I could imagine having this issue, but with a proper stop in between, it should be fine, since it's entirely separate graph etc.

it has always kept the previous setting even after a reboot... or even a power off of the hdpvr..
it seems to keep the settings in nvram, and never changes unless made to..

oh and i made sure the 'force spdif' was set to false in config...

Ok, I can try adding some additional logging around some of the crossbar routing stuff to see what's happening.

here's an odd thing, if i change setting to 'RCA front' or 'RCA back' it randomly only has one of the channels playing...[left sometimes/right sometimes]
and no matter which one i select, it plays thru both actual hookups..[front and back]
so definitely something screwy going on...
checked cables, can hookup the non-working cable to front and it works, but seems to be random which one goes out...
and changing settings [front/back] without touching cables also seems random as to which one stops working...

that's what led me to believe one of my jacks on back was going out...

setting the properties in graphedit always gets both going tho!

this still doesn't work, i still have to run another capture util to set up analog then i can capture in analog...otherwise it's always spdif, no matter what i set channel up in config as...

i think they may have changed something in the crossbar that links the audio to video inputs in later versions..
good thing is, i doubt any updates to driver anymore, so this should be last fix needed..

everything i see in logs are ok...but it doesn't show anything about when it's setting audio input..just connections..need properties setting logging

if you need remote access i have no problem, if it saves you getting out the old hardware..


in logs i viewed a real spdif channel[HBO], then an analog channel [test], then my channel where i make it tune analog with another app then watch..[DVR]
