Upgraded to Windows 10 again. No problems this time apart from this one minor niggle. Although Ir.exe is listed as a startup program in Win10, and set to start automatically, it never does start.
(Ir.exe is the driver for Hauppauge remote controls, which work perfectly with NextPVR once the program is added to Irremote.ini as per the Wiki).
Ir.exe runs fine when I double-click on the .exe, or use 'Restart IR' in the Hauppauge folder, so not a big deal but it always started fine in Win7...
Anybody else experienced startup programs not running in Windows 10? Some threads on Win10 forums say turn off UAC, but that seems a bit drastic...

BTW only upgraded to NextPVR from GBPVR a couple of weeks ago - the end of the Radio Times XMLTV guide data was the final push I needed - I may have been the last GBPVR user on the planet Smile

I had this issue with an application I ran on my car PC. I was never able to get it to autostart. In the end I had to write a script that effectively delayed the startup of that app. If I remember rightly, I had the script ping something then run the .exe. The ping function took about 6 seconds to run and then the script ran the .exe. It worked but it seemed a lot of trouble to go to to make use of something has worked in windows since the beginning.

Would you have the issue if windows went to sleep or hibernation rather than off?

Actually got this to work after reading some threads on Windows 10 forums. Solution was to uncheck 'Run as administrator' in the compatibility tab of properties for Ir.exe. Although counterintuitive, users reported that this got startup files running for them, and it has worked for me - but no help if that option is already unchecked!
