Getting XRecord / CDK SCheduler to work to avoid duplicate recordings

Hi

Like others (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...kscheduler) I am a little confused as to what these various plugins do.

I looked into them since I want to avoid duplicate recordings. I installed them both following reading the wiki and various threads but am not sure I needed them both!

I have got the priorityrecording file sorted and now the scheduler has all the right episodes highlighted, but I am having difficulty getting any recordings to actually happen.

I am wondering if this is due to changes required to the config file - the wiki suggests that with Xrecord I need 'To change the xvideo path edit the config.xml'. I'm not sure what the xvideo path is and what I should edit it to.

Attached is my config file. I am guessing the line to edit is:

<RecordingServiceLocation>tcp://localhost:7968/RecordingRemote</RecordingServiceLocation>

I tried changing 'RecordingRemote' to 'PriorityRecording' which seemed to allow recordings (sometimes) but not Live TV to work. Changing to 'XVideo' meant nothing worked! Any help as to what I need to edit it to (if anything) or whether I am going about this all wrong would be great.

I would revert back your config file.

Sorry for the brief (or not so brief) history of CDK before giving you the answer to your question.

CDKScheduler is at the point where it works really well if you know exactly what you are doing. One mistake and you get an error with very little help on how to fix it (beside support on this site). The initial focus of CDK was on the functionality. Now that is stable, we are focusing on usability and messaging. The funcionality works well and is feature rich, but the usability and messaging, well, we still have a long way to go. For example, if you do not have a priority file and in want to add something to the scheduler, the system should create one for you. You should have the ability to run the priority file at any time. When there is an error the sytem should through that error to a log file. And the list goes on and on.
That said, anyone having problem with CDK, Jorm and King usually beat me to the punch, but we are all willing to help.

Now for your issue below.
If the scheduler is not running. I would look in your PostUpdateEPG.bat and add the following lines
cd c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr
PriorityRecording.exe > recording.log

If that does not solve your problem open a command window and run PriorityRecording.exe > recording.log. Send me the recording.log file to jrockintuitive at yahoo.com. If you do not know how to open a command window, just ask.
