i've been recording the olympics using nextpvr and kodi. working good for the most part but i noticed that for one broadcast listing in the guide (say, olympics primetime, which is about 4 hours long) when i go to recordings to watch it, it's been broken up into multiple files. is this there a setting in npvr to make it one file per listing, or is this an issue in kodi?

It only makes one file per recording. The only way it would have been multiple files is:
1) the show was listed as several shows in the guide, like they'd listed it in one hour chunks with breaks etc listed, or
2) the recording service had been restarted. This causes a new file to be started.

One other thing could cause this. If the recording drive is formatted FAT32 it will break files into 4GB chunks. Sad The only way I know of to fix it is to backup all the files on the disk, format it to NTFS and restore the data.

In that case with NextPVR you still just end up with one file, containing the first 4GB. The rest goes nowhere Big Grin

Ahh, that's the data that just goes to that big bit bucket in the sky... Wink

here's the logs from the day. the daytime broadcasts are listed multiple times in the guide, but it's definitely splitting them up. one will cut off and it picks up in the next file most of the time. some times it seems to miss whole segments. the primetime is at 8 PM, one listing in the guide ends up as multiple files. the length of recording seems to be kinda random too. some are an hour of so, and some are ten minutes. checked disc format just to be sure, NTFS.
