Hi all,

I am using NextPVR with MrMc on AppleTV for one week now. All in all this solution works great but I have some problems.

One of the problems is, that the time shift files of npvr are not deleted. I read this problem also in this forum but I was not able to find a solution for this.

The npvr server (latest) runs on Windows 10.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Frank.

Watch Live TV and then stop NextPVR and then zip and attach the logs to a post. Tell us the time that you watched Live TV so we know where to look in the logs. Thanks ... http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post480931

Hi,

sorry for my late reply. It is not easy to reproduce the problem.

So attached you see three files:

#1 This is the time shift directory when the problem occurs over night. As you can see the rotation of the files does not work.

#2 This is another screenshot of the time directory I would like to explain: So this morning my hard drive was full of time shift files. Then I deleted all of them and saw that one was not deletable. The reason for this was that one SatIP Tuner was still alive as you can see on the picture. This is strange because there were no clients connected. Then I waited to see what happens and again as you can see the rotation of the files does not work. So if I don't restart the recording service the time shift directory would be full of files again. Currently I use only one client: MrMc on AppleTV and iPAD, which sometimes crashes at startup when connecting to NextPvr. I also opened an issue concerning this in the mrmc forum: http://mrmc.tv/forum/viewtopic.php?p=5314#p5314

Because I did not use MrMC on iPAD for some days now. The only responsible client for this situation is MrMc on AppleTV. "Responsible"...I am really not sure if this is an MrMc or NextPVR issue but normally I would expect that NextPVR could deal with broken clients and act more "stable" as it does.

#3 These are the log files zip this morning. I really hope, this help?! -> Currently I cannot upload the file. The Forum says "database error". I will try it later.

THANKS!

Frank

This has been a problem for me for ages. It has been reported to sub in the past but he hasn't addressed it so far. Some files are deleted, but usually the last 4 files relating to a specific TV show are not deleted. It happens whether in client mode or stand-alone mode. At one point, before I initially noticed the issue, I found nearly 750GB of those files on my hard drive.

My workaround is to schedule a manual deletion every day of those files.

I had a similar problem a good while back. The solution for me was to add a couple lines to your PostUpdateEPG.bat. Just change the paths to suit your needs.

Code:
del "D:\recorded_TV\live-*"
del "D:\buffer\live-*"

To be honest, I have no idea if it's still a problem, but I figure it's good maintenance and it's automatic so it can't hurt.

Snag
NextPVR V6.1.5.231022 - Ubuntu 22.04 VM / 4 core / 8Gb memory
HDHR Prime X2 / HDFX-2 /Schedule Direct / 2X Pi4 + & 3X Pi3 LibreELEC Kodi clients
Server - TrueNAS/ SuperMicro MBD-X10SL7-F MB / Xeon E3-1246 / 32Gb Unbuffered ECC / 8 X 4TB RAIDZ2

Thank you very much. I just created the bat and added the lines. So this will solve the file problem surely as a workaround.

Thanks,

Frank.
