All of a sudden, starting this morning, after over a year of operation, I am seeing that the record service is not automatically starting when server is boots. This has now happened 3 times in a row - never happened before. I changed nothing on the server, hardware of software. The service is set to start automatically, but no longer seems to be starting at bootup. It will start if I manually start the service.

Windows 7 event logs are reporting the following errors:

Event 7000
The NPVR Recording Service service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Event 7009
A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the NPVR Recording Service service to connect.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks

Does any nrecord.log ever get created for the boot time start attempt? Are there any other events in the event viewer that could be related?

Followup:

After following the advice posted in other threads, I switched the recording service to automatic w/delayed start. This seems to have done the trick. I still am confused in that the server has been operating fine for 18 straight months before this issue surfaced. I have come to expect odd behavior with Windows 10, but not so much with Windows 7.
